    The 26 year old that you interviewed said he made about $30,000 to $35,000 a year. If he is a tax filing household of 1 he would qualify for tax cedit. Why was this not mentioned?

  2. Since the 26 year old’s annual premium would have been below 9.5% of annual household income, he would be ineligible for a tax credit. Even though the individual had an income within the requirements, his premium would have been at a level that would deem him ineligible. The percent of income you have to pay for the premium has to be greater than 9.5% in order to qualify for subsidies.
