Video: New AMA President On Implementing The Health Law

KHN’s Mary Agnes Carey and The Washington Post’s Sarah Kliff interviewed Dr. Ardis Hoven, the new American Medical Association president, for an episode of the C-SPAN program “Newsmakers” that aired Sunday. The three talked about implementation of the health care law, a shortage of primary care practitioners, as well as the AMA’s decision to classify obesity as a disease and what to expect from her tenure as president.

    Since “2/3 docs dont belong to AMA”, and since those 2/3 docs are mostly practicing as Lone Rangers and do not intend to join a team model. I assume that those 2/3 docs think that the patient centered medical home concept is unworkable and that working alone is the best way to deliver health care, right?
